Edward A. Stone and the employees of his carriage shop.
Edward A. Stone (bottom right) and the men who worked in his carriage shop in Conneaut, Ohio (photo taken summer 1858). Quoting from his 5 April 1895 obituary in The Conneaut Herald, he "engaged quite extensively in a local way in the carriage building industry, until about the period when the cheaper product of large carriage factories in cities began to crowd the smaller local makers out of business."
